Problem after last update...

Chromecast not working properly after last update. TV iptv channels are jammed synchronously. After checking all the options, the fault is clearly on the Chromcast side.

Question... can you get closed captions on a casted YouTube video? Since the update, our closed captions on YouTube have disappeared up into the left hand upper screen and we only see the last word of the captions. Can't seem to get any help with this.

This is an example uploaded on Youtube. The problem is with the playback of some IPTV channels. Youtube works OK.

I'm unsure what you mean by "This is an example uploaded on YouTube." There didn't seem to be an attachment to your comment.

 

But I did look up what IPTV channels mean and the videos we watch aren't TV at all but private persons channels on YouTube.

I have tried casting from other channels and the same thing happens.

One family member here is very disabled by lack of hearing and this is quite a disappointment to have to give up our YouTube videos we enjoyed.

Really hoping that someone can tell us how to fix this.

This is what worked for me. I start a YouTube video on my phone or tablet. I don't maximize the screen. After it has played for a few seconds, I pause it. Then I when I start it again the captions show up

Turn on in Tivimate "Tunneled playback". It helps.

Thanks but I have an older chromecast.

 

Starting a YouTube video, then pausing and re-starting it worked for me.

Dashoo77 and Mes, thanks for reaching out, and sorry for the delay. A few questions: what Chromecast device are we working on? When did the issue start? Is this only happening with the  IPTV channels app or across all apps? If you have a friend or family member who's using the Chromecast, have you checked if they're attempting to reinstall the app? In the meantime, please reboot your Chromecast. Resetting it might also help.

Hello Kimy

I think most of us who were discussing this issue back in June have fixed it by starting a YouTube video, turning closed captions on, and off, then on again. Seems to work for me and several other people who I have been talking to. Thanks anyway
