Renaming a Chromecast device

How do I rename a Chromecast device? I have moved it to another room and want to re-label it accordingly. Can’t find any way in settings.

Thanks for your reply - unfortunately, when I go to Settings for the device, the page is blank. There is a "Request invitation to manage" button, but it gives the response "Request failed. Account cannot apply to manage other structures". I am the owner of the account.

Hi @PPurcell 

You could try factory resetting your Chromecast and do set up like a new device. 😊

To rename your Chromecast device after moving it to another room, you can follow these steps:

  1. Open the Google Home app on your mobile device.
  2. Find the Chromecast device you want to rename in the list of available devices.
  3. Tap on the device, then tap on the gear icon to access device settings.
  4. Look for the option to rename the device and enter the new name you want to assign to it.
