I have Samsung S9 that was working perfectly a few days ago.. casting with no issues in everyway imaginable. Now I can't cast anything using my phone. I don't understand, I received a message saying my phone was not optimized when I used the "home" app & today I tried looking for my device, nothing. This product has always worked for me and I'm so confused why it's not working now. It's such a hassle to setup everything again, if I have to do a manual reset.. is this a glitch?

I'm sorry to hear that your phone is having issues casting! I'd be happy to help you look into this, as I imagine it has been quite the headache for you. First thing I would check is to see if you are able to cast from any other device, such as a computer or tablet. That way, you can isolate the issue to either the Chromecast or the Samsung. Second, I would make sure that you're not using any VPNs and that your Google Home app is up-to-date. Finally, check to see if any apps at all work, or if you are able to screen mirror.
