My setup was working well. Out of nowhere, when I issue a command, "Open Paramount+ on bedroom TV", it is repeated and displayed on screen, but nothing happens. When I issue the same command on my Pixel 6 Pro with Google Home, it isn't displayed on my TV,(a Samsung Smart TV) but it is completed. I have reset the Chromecast by pushing button until light flashes but it didn't help. Any ideas on what to try next?

Hey folks,
Thanks for reaching out to the Chromecast Community! Let's sort this out.
To confirm, is this only happening in the Paramount app or across all apps? Please reboot your Chromecast and try to plug it in on a different HDMI port on your TV. Also, try to reset your Chromecast Voice Remote.

The issue for me is this:
If I press the voice command button on the remote and say "Launch xyz" where xyz is the name of any installed app then it registers what I've said and repeats back, e.g "Launching xyz on the Living Room TV" but nothing actually happens besides the screen being shaded for a few seconds and the voice confirmation.
Also on the remote if I say something like "Exit xyz" and I'm already in xyz app, it works fine, takes me back to the home screen. It just won't launch apps.
Now, if I grab by phone and say, "OK Google, launch xyz on the living room tv" it works perfectly - the app launches on the Chromecast.
So the issue is limited only to launching apps, and only from the voice button on the remote, but all apps, it doesn't matter what app it is, the behaviour is the same. This started with the update a month or two ago.

Hi willpage,
That is exactly what is happening to me, exactly!

Hi folks,
Thanks for getting back to us and for providing more details about the issue.
willpage, have you tried to factory reset your Chromecast? If you haven't yet, please try that and let me know how it goes.
markdoc, if you haven't tried plugging in the Chromecast into a different HDMI port on your TV, please try it and test again.
Thanks,
Jennifer

Hi JenniferV
Is there any way to reinstall the previous version of the software? It seems like the problem started with the latest update.

Hi markdoc,
I'm afraid there's no option to revert to the previous software version.
Thanks,
Jennifer

Thanks for asking, Jeran.
I still have the problem among others with the Chromecast. It's handy to have all the different streaming apps in one place, but IMO, it isn't quite ready for public use. The inability to launch apps is only one issue. There are many others. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Hey there markdoc,
It looks like there is a large update to Chromecast with Google TV's firmware rolling out, would you be able to check for updates on your Chromecast and see if the problem persists after the update?
Best regards,
Jeran
