Sound Muted with some apps

I have some trouble trying to watch some series due to that my chromecast won't play the sound from Star+ and Netflix but it plays YouTube and Twitch normally.

I've tried rebooting the device but it keeps happening

I'm sorry to hear that your Chromecast is not playing sounds in a few apps! This sounds pretty tricky to troubleshoot, so I'd be happy to help you out. Go ahead and make sure your Chromecast's firmware is up-to-date. Then, clear out the cached app data on the affected apps. Finally, if that doesn't resolve it, go ahead and uninstall and reinstall those apps.

It didn't work, I tried to Uninstall apps an check for updates, but Disney+ and Netflix are the ones that keep muted

Hey there DBaad,

No problem at all! There is an interesting work-around I've seen work for other users, so go ahead and give this a try:

  • Open the Google Home app
  • Tap on your Chromecast > Settings >Audio > Surround sound mode > Stereo only
  • Unplug the Chromecast, then plug it back in.

Thanks for your help, turns out that some audio settings were enabled but weren't supported by the TV, now everything works
