WiFi issues with Chromecast with Google TV

DavidGilbert
Community Member

Hi all,

My Chromecast with Google TV suddently stopped connecting to the WiFi network in my home. The network is showing up in the list of networks, but it won't connect. There was no changes to the WiFi setup  recently that would have caused this.

I've reset the Chromecast and route, and tried a factory reset of the Chromecast, but nothing works.

Also, the remote is not responding very well to inputs even though batteries are new.

Any ideas?

Hey there DavidGilbert,

I apologize for the late response on this thread, thank you for your patience! Were you able to fix that connection issue? If not, I'd be happy to help out, as these problems can be difficult to troubleshoot on your own. First, make sure your Chromecast is up-to-date on its firmware. After you do that, go ahead and soft reset the router. Then, try connecting the Chromecast to a different Wi-Fi band, either 2.4GHz or 5GHz, to see if the connection is better. Finally, follow the steps listed in this article.

I look forward to your response, and if you have any other questions or concerns for me, please let me know!

Best regards,
Jeran
