chromecast cant be found

Chromecasting in garage using  Mobile  wifi hotspot successfully. Trying now to use  a wavlink repeater ac1200 dual band on repeater switch setting.  All other devices work fine in garage .Lots and lots of reboots, factory resets on everything.   Error message  on 2.4 ghz= chromecast setup  ok, but cant be found. I have checked repeater  client list and both android and chromecast are there. Error message on 5ghz= chromecast could not connect to XXX network . AP settings are not available in  repeater set up, but I presume they are off as AP is a mode not selected on switch. I can successfully reboot and set up on mobile hotspot again, but thats not the required outcome.   Cheers

Hola buen dia, puedes realizar lo siguiente, entrar en el router con el usuario y contraseña, luego Crear una linea o punto de acesso extra y conecta el Chromecast y el celular en la misma red, asi podras usarlo! Avisame si te sirvio la solución. Saludos.

Thankyou for your reply. Tried AP mode hard wired to LAN  same result, both devices can be seen on network, but google home still  cannot see the chromecast on the network.

Hi folks,

Thanks for the help here, Diego3 and Jch12.

rustyd, if the Chromecast was able to connect to your mobile hotspot, then the issue isn't with the Chromecast device. If you're familiar with your router settings, please configure it. See the router settings below that you need to check:

Enable these settings on your router, if applicable:

  1. Universal Plug and Play (UPnP)/Multicast
  2. Internet Group Management Protocol (IGMP)

Disable these settings on your router, if applicable:

  1. AP/client isolation
  2. Virtual Private Networks (VPNs)
  3. Proxy Servers

Thanks,

Jennifer

Hi. Mine worked with a static IP but I used the repeater with a wifi bridge and Chromecast ethernet. Maybe the wavlink tech support can help?
