chromecast connection issues

  • My chromecast has stopped working on all phones. I've done a hard factory reset. restarted everything.  it recognises my phone during the factory reset but when I want to cast anything I get an error message stating that the app cannot find my chromecast?? 5 minutes earlier it had found it during the hard reset.  I do not understand what's going on.  Can anyone help?

I am currently having the same issue. I hard reset both my Chromecast ultra and my Google TV and they are not showing up as available to cast to under none of my apps. This happened all at the same time

Thanks for reaching out and sorry to hear that you are having an issue with your Chromecast devices. Let's check on this further.

 

A few questions — what is the make and model of the device you used to cast? Have you successfully installed the Chromecast prior to casting? Has there been any changes in their network?

 

Give these steps a try:

  1. Ensure that the apps you are using are updated.
  2. Make sure your casting device has an updated OS version.
  3. Make sure the Chromecast device is set up correctly.
  4. Check if other devices can cast successfully (Example: phones, tablets, computers).
  5. If you have a dual band router, make sure your casting devices are connected to the same network as your Chromecast.
  6. Reboot the Chromecast, casting device, and router.
  7. Factory reset the Chromecast again.
