All Google WiFi speakers crackling

I have 4 Google WiFi points, 1 mini, and 1 home hub. I have stopped using these for the mesh WiFi over a year ago as it has consistently depleted over time. But regardless of that, yesterday all speakers crackle when the assistant is speaking and only then.. music seems ok. I have reset all, both via the app and by unplugging and plugging back in individually.

I use  nest mini and suddenly it crakles when assistant is speaking like you. I tested with youtube music premium, it worked well. I reset the device, it seems same. I think it is software  problem.

Yes, I think software, if it was hardware it wouldn’t happen to all speakers at once.

yup. and if it was hardware problem, music shouldn't work well. Buy the way, did you turn off the ultrasound sensing? And I also want to know your mini version. My version is 3.75.456944.

Estou tendo o mesmo problema com minhas Google nest mini

Hi there,

Thank you for posting in the community. I understand you've been experiencing some inconveniences with your speakers. I'm happy to help.

To better understand your concern, please provide the following information:

  • Are your devices connected to the same network?
  • Have you recently made any changes to the network where your speakers are connected?
  • Please confirm whether you have performed a factory reset on your devices as indicated in the article "Factory reset Google Nest or Home speakers or displays."

Please keep me posted.

Regards,

Anders

Hi @Luke_ire,

Thank you for the update about the troubleshooting you've performed. Based on this information, please confirm whether you performed the following:

  1. Confirm if the device constantly experiences the speaker quality inconvenience:
    • Command "Okay Google," then: "What time is it?" "What's the weather?" "Is it going to rain tomorrow?"
  2. Check if the inconvenience occurs with a specific music service:
    • Confirm that a music service works when you command, "Okay Google, play music."
  3. Remove the base of the speaker or display (if applicable):
    • Remove the base of the device and test if the poor audio quality is a result of a loose base cover.

Let me know how it goes.

Regards,

Anders
