Aqara 3 gang switch all displaying the same name in google home

I have a couple of Aqara 2gang and 3gang switches at home, and I managed to pair them with google home via Aqara h2 hub.

I setup my 3 gang switch in the living room, in the aqara app, I set the 3 gang switch as "Living Room", and for each of the 3 gang switches, I name them "Living room fan", "TV led", "Living room light".

But when I add my switches into Google home, I see 3x "Living Room", instead of the names for each specific switch. How do I display the customised names? I cannot differtiate which of the "Living Room" switch refers to my light, fan, or LED.

Oh I managed to find it. I think its the UI issue. It doesnt 'appear' like i can 'click' on the name, but I tried and can actually click in to change it. Thanks

Hi @Cherple,

Thank you for posting in the community. I understand you're seeing multiple "Living Room" entries in the Google Home app instead of the customized names you set for each individual switch of your Aqara 2-gang and 3-gang switches. It's important to have clear names for easy control, and I'm here to help you get this organized.

To help me understand what might be happening and provide you with the best solution, could you please answer a few questions?

  1. In the Aqara app, after you've named the individual switches (e.g., "Living Room Fan"), are these individual names also displayed clearly in the Aqara app's main device list or only when you go into the settings of the "Living Room" 3-gang switch?

  2. Have you tried unlinking and relinking your Aqara account in the Google Home app?

    • To do this, open the Google Home app.

    • Tap Settings (gear icon) > Works with Google.

    • Find Aqara Smart Home and tap it.

    • Tap Unlink account.

    • Once unlinked, go back to the main screen of the Google Home app, tap the "+" sign (Add) > Set up device > Works with Google, and search for Aqara Smart Home again to relink.

  3. In the Google Home app, after the devices are synced, if you tap and hold on one of the generic "Living Room" switches, does it open a control screen where you can potentially see the specific "Living Room Fan," "TV LED," or "Living Room Light" labels, or does it just show an on/off toggle?

We'll work through this to get your switches displaying with their proper names in Google Home.

I'll look forward to your response.

Regards,

Kevin
