Change google music account

Deheugden
Community Member

I got several devices at home, in my family. But, when my son is at his room, streaming music, he is using my music account. Heck, everyone is using my Youtube music account. Can this be changed, so everyone can use their own youtube music account at their device? If so, how should this be done?
Tha
nk you.

Hi Deheugden,

Thanks for reaching out.

The Google Account you've used after setting up your speakers is the default YouTube Music account associated with your Google Nest or Home devices. To change the YouTube Music account associated with other speakers in your household, they must link their own Google Account on their speakers. Here’s how to unlink a Google Account from Google Home and link a new Google Account.

Let us know if you have other questions.

Best,

Alex

Many thanks for the reply. Stil finding out how to do that, am using a Lenovo alarmclock and canmot find an account in the device

Edit, found the four accounts from our  family checking this:

Check which Google Account is linked to a speaker or display
Open the Google Home app Google Home app.
Touch and hold your device's tile.
At the top right corner, tap Settings and then Recognition & sharing.
Under Linked accounts(s), you'll find the Google Account(s) linked to this specific device.

But cannot changed them by order or even remove them

Hey there,

Thanks for the update.

You can either remove other members from your home or reset your device.

Keep me posted.

Kind regards,

Alex

Hey Deheugden,

When a member is removed from a home:

  • They will no longer have access to the devices settings or services in the home and their account will no longer be linked to the devices.
  • Assistant devices such as speakers and displays including those set up by the removed member will remain in the home. These devices will no longer be linked to the home member that was removed.
  • They can still communicate with the device or they can still use it using voice commands.
  • You can check the link that I sent with my previous response for the steps on how to remove other members from your home.

Keep me posted.

Thanks,

Alex

Hi Deheugden,

Yikes! To confirm, what devices do you have at home? Your family member needs to link their own account to your smart devices so that they can also use their own music provider or account.

Thanks,

Alex
