Hi, since yesterday 03/09/2025 afternoon, in Italy, suddenly my chromecast stopped working.
I reset to factory values and reinstalled the home app on the tablet.
I see the chromecast-id on the screen but the home app cannot connect to the device.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

This is a known issue and affects all 2nd Gen units across the planet. Looks like a cert expiry type of issue. Resetting your phone's date helps the unit to connect to the network but this does not allow one to cast, etc.

We're all going to have to wait for a fix. There are a few out there but they all involve command line/GUI text so are probably best avoided for most people. The advice is to avoid a factory reset...although for most this will come too late ;-). The fix MAY need one to change a phone date to before the 9th, factory reset and then this will connect the unit to the network so that it can pull down the new fix...but this is NOT for now. So best sit on your hands and wait to see what the advice is when the fix is released.

I had the same problem, and I reset to factory default, today i discovered too late it is a global problem
Hope it will be solved asap
