I got an email on Tuesday stating Gemini for Home is now available. My Google Home app is up to date, I enrolled in the Gemini for Home when it became available (no longer shows in the setting of Google Home). I have access to "Ask Home" but I can't enable Gemini for Home Camera Features on any of my Cameras/Doorbells. I have 6 Outdoor 1st Gen Nest Cameras, 2 Indoor 2nd Gen Nest Cameras, and 2 Nest Hello doorbells.

Forgot to mention, I also tried checking the camera/doorbell settings -> seen events but don't see the Gemini option there.

Following because i'm having the same issue . . . I have 'early access' for the home app and have home premium advanced subscription.

You don't think this could be a state law issue? My state has a Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA) which disables features like "Familiar Face" found on the Nest Hello. Previously during the Public Preview, Google was rolling out AI updates to events where it could summarize/categorize certain details of an event (this has now become Home Brief I assume?). When reading the article about it, it mentioned that my state was ineligible to try out the feature (again due to my state's BIPA). Looking over the recent blog post, I cannot find any information regarding if this is the reason why I could be impacted from being able to enable Gemini for cameras/doorbells.

I'm also in a state that doesn't legally allow familiar faces. So you might be on to something here. . .
Wednesday
Also seeing the same - But I was able to trick my google Home to show me the familiar faces feature when I ran my router through a VPN connection in another state. Doing so will also throw off every other location specific feature, but at least I've confirmed that the familiar face feature (not the Gemini for Home Camera Features) is tied to your ISP location info.

I am facing the same issue.

Have you found any solutions here or on Reddit by any chance? I've seen some people say to check the camera/doorbell seen event settings or to check the Google Home subscription details on the Google Home app, but neither of those options worked for me.

Same, I have checked different options mentioned by google and Reddit posts but couldn't find the option to enable the feature. I am located in US. I also heard that it is early release. So google have probably not rolled out this feature to everyone.

Same issue here. This should work even without facial detection from what I've heard (and Gemini itself says).

I'm having the same issue. I opened a support case with google last Thursday, wen through a few T/S steps, and was told they had to escalate to "dedicated senior team" but have not gotten any responses. Someone above mentioned the BIPA laws and I too fall in this category. I really hope thats not the issue.

I did the same last night with troubleshooting and escalation, but I assume this is a BIPA issue given all of us here. That shouldn't prohibit use but perhaps take mroe time for approvals.

I’m in the same boat as well. Everything points too I should have it and I don’t.
Wednesday
Now getting app pop ups and a banner that features are ready to activate. Still no cameras listed as available though.
Thursday
Same here. Just got it this morning. List still appears empty when the Gemini For cameras/doorbell prompt/screen appears.
Thursday
I just got a notification that my Gemini for Home Camera Features are ready and it said click here to 'turn on'. And got to the exact same screen with still no cameras available. I was so excited and then let down so quickly.
Thursday - last edited Thursday
This is what it looked like in the app (after I clicked the initial notification). So at least I can keep trying and maybe it might show something later . . .
. . . never mind apparently google doesn't want me to post the picture from either my computer or phone . . .
Thursday
Same for me, still no word back for support, other than the team says the feature "is being rolled out"
Thursday
Same here on that front as well!
Thursday
Got a reply from support. 10 troubleshooting steps. Clear cache, data, uninstall, etc. didn't work. They asked I submit the feedback through the app to check logs.
Definitely seems server side.
Thursday
I tried all of this things after I got the notification earlier. So looks like I'll submit feedback through the app as well.
yesterday
My cameras now appear, can be enabled, and Gemini is functioning. I'm in a state with BIPA. I did not yet receive any response to my feedback in the app so not sure if the change was because of that or independent.
yesterday
Awesome! Same boat here. After seeing your post I decided to go check mine and lo and behold my cameras were there.
yesterday
Wooohooo! Same here. I had been checking a couple of times a day. So a magic switch (deployment with big fix) must have occured in the last couple of hours.
yesterday
Same here, glad to see you all got access to it!
yesterday
Same, my cameras are visible now.
