Google never hears me

I have Alexa and two google hubs. I wish we could just say "google" instead of "Hey google" but even then it doesn't hear me unless I walk up to the screen. Alexa hears me from another room even if the TV is on and Alexa connects to your smart accessories seamlessly but let's say I accidentally use a switch the old fashioned way, it disconnects. It will turn the light on and say "sorry It looks like the light isn't available right now." There's a lot more that needs to be worked out with the product.  Any advice is appreciated in advance, thank you kindly 🙏

Hi Jojozep-yep-yep,

We appreciate your interest in customizing the wake up word for Google Home devices; however, this is yet to be supported. We're always looking for ways to improve our product and we'll take it as feedback.

Let’s further check why your Google Nest Hub displays are doing this strange behavior. Just to check, does the same issue occur when others speak to your Google Nest Hub devices? Where is the device placed? Try these troubleshooting steps:

  • Unplug Google Nest Hub from the power outlet for a minute > Plug back in.
  • Open the Google Home app > Devices > Tap Google Nest Hub device icon > Settings > Scroll down until you see "Hey Google" sensitivity > Adjust the sensitivity.
  • Give it a test command. If the issue persists, try to factory reset the device then set up.

Let me know how it goes.

Regards,
Alex
