Govee wifi hygrometer thermometer

Becker2900

I have a Govee home wifi thermometer/hygrometer and it says the device can be linked to Home and is supposed to tell me temperature and humidity.  I've synced the device with Home,  but all that is displayed is temperature.  Not sure if I did something wrong or the hygrometer is only partially compatible?   Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Becker2900,

Thanks for reaching out to the Community. I’d be glad to help you with this. Let’s check it out.

To make sure everything is up-to-date, please try the following steps:

  1. Check for Android system updates and install them if there’s any.
  2. Uninstall the Google Home app.
  3. Restart the Android mobile device.
  4. Reinstall the Google Home app.

Let me know how it goes.

Best,

Lance

Hi Lance. I have the sane issue. I tried this and it did absolutely nothing

Hey Lance,

this is issue is still not fixed. Can you please take a look at why this function is not working?

Please look at my latest post...

I have the same problem. Trying to use this for automation of a fan. I can set the automation to use the humidity value. However google integration is not reading the humidity value. It only is reading the temperature. Says humidity is unavailable.

Same situation with me.   Says Humidity Unavailable.  The whole reason i bought these was to try automate my place based on humidity levels.

Me too! No use to me without humidity readings.

Surprise, surprise - it has now started working properly, giving both temperature and humidity. (Only three hours after my previous post.)

Sadly still not working for me. Humidity not ahowing only temperature. All devices fully updated. I got same automation working correctly with home assistant now so I dont need the google automation. However this goes to show the issue is definitely with the google integration.

What did you try?  Mines still the same 2 weeks later.

How??

  • I spoke too soon when I said mine was showing the humidity readings: after a couple of hours it stopped, and it is now back to always showing the "Humidity Unavailable" message.

Mine *only* shows humidity, and I need temperature too, to automate a space heater to keep my greenhouse warm 😞

Now it's back working again: perhaps you have to leave the Google Home app looking at the sensor until the sensor sends it next update (and if you've configured the sensor to make the battery last, that could be a couple of hours).

Funny thing is that while humidity does not show up in Google Home, it does show up in Alexa.

But in Alexa it does not show temperature  ;(

From what I can see. When the device refreshes the data shows up for a few minutes.  Then disappears.  So any automations would need to trigger from the temp value.   Should be an easy fix for them to hold the values between refreshes.

In Google Home the TEMPERATURE stays fine. The HUMIDITY is unavailable. But i did see it once and thought it was initial setup glitch, but then humidity disappeared.

BTW is saw this issue in at least 2 different devices, the Bluetooth hydrometer and now with WiFi one.

Hey is there any update on this please? Same issue, purchased the Govee hygrometer to control a smart plug with my humidifier. All I see is temperature, even though I can set the automation to specifically select humidity. The problem is humidity does not show in the app and the switch will just run or stop if I press activate. Does not work at all.

Has anyone had any luck getting the humidity working? Mine is having this issue too.

Every now and again the humidity reading shows up, but I can't detect any pattern.

I have had nothing but terrible customer service from Govee who clearly do not care about their devices integration in Google Home. Automations in the Govee app are unreliable at best. FYI my thermometer/hygrometer is reporting humidity only to Google Home in UK.

Same issue here. Temp and humidity are shown in the govee app, but in Google home it shows the temp and the humidity shows : unavailable.

Seems for me, that is a sync problem between govee and Google home.

Please fix that 🙂

Same issue...only temperature is displayed.  Please fix.

The issue I'm having is that I can view the temperature when I look at devices, but when I try to set an automation, it can only shows humidity as an option.  I'm trying to get a fan to run based on temperature. *Sigh*

I fixed mine by getting home assistant.   It can share the device back with Google and Google sees both sensors clearly.     Now I have the best of both worlds.

Same issue here... would be great if Google and/or Govee find a solution

I think I might have found the root cause. Google Home can only interpret whole numbers/integers e.g. when Govee sends 54.0 google home displays the correct humidity, when Govee sends 54.1 google displays "humidity unavailable". Now we only need a fix...

FYI: I have reported this issue as Bug to Google:
