Help with Presence Sensing

Hello there,

I have all kinds of nest mini speakers, a nest hub, Learning Thermostat, Nest Wired Doorbell, Outdoor Camera and Protects (although those are not yet set up). Me and my wife both have a OnePlus Nord (Android 12) and we set our location to always and exact for the Google Home and Nest app. 

We have set up to ONLY use our phones location within the Google Home app and turned off all the nest minis and nest hub and thermostat for presence sensing. It is just the phones. I did this because when I mixed it, I noticed it was not always working correctly.

But now, since Sunday, it is not working anymore at all. When I go to the Activity tab and filter for Presence Sensing, I can see that there has not been an update since Sunday, although we did leave the house. For example, my wife leaves the house every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday for work, but when I check it, there is never an update. I was at home at these times by the way.

But still, the issue stays the same: when we are both away, the presence sensing is not setting our home to Away, meaning the automation is not doing anything at all. 

What can I do to change this? And does anyone know how long it usually takes for the automation to do something. I understand it will not be set to Away when I just left the house, but how long does it take?

Hope anyone can help me out with this frustrating issue.

Thanks for reaching out. I know how challenging it is when you're having issues with the presence sensing on your Google Nest Mini. Please note that if you hasn't left your home’s geofence for 3 days, it's expected behavior that Home/Away would ignore the phone location. Visit this link to know more about presence sensing.
