Hub 2 dawn simulator

Hello, I have 1 problem on my nest hub 2. I use the dawn simulator to wake up. For a while now the alarm works normally but the screen remains off during dawn, so I only hear the sound alarm and I have to swipe the screen to access the option to stop or extend the alarm. At this time the screen is very bright. Is there an option somewhere to activate ?? Thanks in advance for your help

It sounds like your Google Nest Hub 2 isn't functioning as expected with the dawn simulator feature. The screen should gradually brighten to simulate sunrise, but in your case, it's staying off. Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot and potentially fix the issue:

1. Check Dawn Simulator Settings

  • Open the Google Home app on your phone or tablet.
  • Select your Nest Hub 2 from the list of devices.
  • Tap Alarms or go into Settings and check the alarm settings.
  • Ensure the Sunrise Alarm or Dawn Simulator feature is enabled, and confirm the settings for screen brightness during the dawn phase.

2. Adjust Screen Brightness Settings

  • On your Nest Hub 2, swipe up from the bottom of the screen to access the Quick Settings menu.
  • Make sure the screen brightness isn’t set to a very low level or "off" during the alarm.

3. Update Your Nest Hub Firmware

  • Ensure your Nest Hub 2 is running the latest firmware.
  • Go to the Google Home app, navigate to Settings, and check for any updates under the Device information section.

4. Restart Your Nest Hub

  • Unplug the device from the power source, wait for about 10 seconds, and plug it back in.
  • Test the alarm again to see if the dawn simulator works as intended.

5. Factory Reset (Last Resort)

  • If the issue persists, consider performing a factory reset on your Nest Hub 2. Hold down the volume buttons for about 10 seconds until the device restarts. Be sure to set it up again and configure the dawn simulator feature.

6. Contact Google Support

  • If none of the above steps resolve the problem, contact Google NEST Support for assistance. They may provide a fix or confirm if there’s a hardware or software issue because they helped me a lot as well for my website issues.

Let me know if any of these steps help!

Hello thank you for your help. It seems that it was Brightness Settings that cause the trouble.

Hi @Gege407,

Thank you for posting in the community. I'm sorry to hear that the Dawn simulator is not working as expected in your Nest Hub 2nd Gen. Don't worry; help is here. Thank you, @Nulsrbawl123, for sharing some troubleshooting steps to help solve this matter.

I believe that you are talking about the Sunrise Alarm feature in your Nest Hub that gradually brightens the screen until it's time to wake up. If so, you can try the steps below to set the Sunrise alarm in your Nest Hub again.

  1. Swipe up from the bottom of your display and then tap Alarms.
    • To use an existing alarm, tap its description on the screen.
    • To use a new alarm, tap Set an alarm and then choose a time and then tap Set.
  2. Turn on Sunrise Alarm.
  3. To customize your settings, tap Sunrise Alarm:
    • With compatible smart lights, you can have the lights in your room brighten during your sunrise.
    • Adjust the sunrise window for a faster or slower-paced sunrise.
    • Select a pre-alarm. With a pre-alarm, soft sounds like birds chirping will play in the last minutes prior to the alarm.
  4. When finished, tap Done.

In the meantime you can take a look at the following article: Set and manage alarms on your Google Nest speaker or display.

Let me know how it goes and keep me posted.

Best regards,

Derick.
