Inability to use set my Google home device with my phone using Google home app

I'm trying to set my Google home device with my phone using Google home app but when it reached the final stage, Google home device is not among options tha is displayed. Though I've been able to connect it with the use of Google home app but it will not speak out if play the music on my phone. Also I've not been able to connect my device with my phone using my phone Bluetooth.

• Are you trying to play music using the casting option or using a voice command?
• Is the device already in the Google Home app?
• When you try to connect your Google Home device, is it already in pairing mode?
• Are your phone and Google Home app updated to the latest available version?
