LIFX not available right now

Hi All,

TL:DR I am having issues with my LIFX lights through Google Home and no longer able to have more than 3 devices respond at any one time. Need a solution.

I have used LIFX lights throughout my house (38 total) and have never had any issues until a few weeks ago. These light have been from multiple generation, designs, styles but all seem to have failed together.

If I asked Google home to "turn all the lights on" I get the response of "Turning 3 lights on, sorry it looks like 35 lights arent available right now". The 3 lights that do turn on are completely random and different each time. If i ask the same request again 3 different lights will turn on and this continues however I never am able to get a full set of lights on.

Key issues tested :

  • If I go into the LIFX app I have full control of the lights and there are no issues in controlling them so the lights are no the issue
  • If I request a single light through Google Home to be turned on this will work so appears connection between Google and LIFX is working
  • Have completed a sync of all light and issue remains
  • Have Factory reset all lights, made a new account, unlinked old account and relinked to Google and Issue remains

I am kind of at my wits end as to the issue and a possible solution. If anyone else has experienced this I would really love to hear a solution or workaround

I have the exact same issue. It started earlier this year: I can also reliably turn on/off one light but groups of lights are randomly controllable.

Yes it makes no sense. 
I assume the issue is related to only being able to receive a short blast of information and not the full chain but need to know how to make it work still

Hey everyone,

 

We're sorry to hear about your trouble in controlling your LIFX lights using your Google Home — let's see what's going on. 

 

Give these steps a try:

 

  1. Sign in to https://goo.gle/3M9NTNK.
  2. Revoke the Google Assistant.
  3. Uninstall and reinstall your Google Home and LIFX app. 
  4. Once done, try relinking your LIFX app once more.
  5. Try rebooting your Google Home, LIFX devices and router to refresh the connection. 
  6. Resetting your Google Home might help too.

Hi Alex,

 

Unfortunetly we still have the same issues present even after your steps.

 

The issue remains that only 3 lights can respond to a "turn all the lights on" command. Individual lights are able to be turned on 1 by one but with 43 lights in the house this really is painful!

Even getting the 6 lights on in the kitchen is hard enough!
