Leviton problems!

upsmichael
Community Member

Good morning! Added a 3rd home member in my Google home app and all of my Leviton switches stopped working. However, they still work in the Leviton app. Tried relinking Leviton to Google with no success. It never shows as a linked account. However, all the switches still show in the Google home app, but just as offline. Tried the unlink command in the individual switch, with no success. I need to unlink Leviton from Google so that I can relink, but that is impossible when it never shows as a linked account. The last time this happened (exact same scenario then as well) to me, I ended up deleting  the home and starting over, took me the better part of the day and I definitely don't want to do that again.  Any suggestions? PS  Leviton says it's Google's fault, and Google says it's Leviton's fault.  Hoping someone will feel my pain. 🙂

Hey upsmichael,

Thanks for reaching out. Let's check what's going on — are your Leviton switches successfully set up on the same WiFi network where your speakers are connected? Could you try these steps:

  • Unlink your Leviton account.
  • Reboot your Leviton devices, Google Home and router for a minute to refresh the connection.
  • Say the voice command, “Hey Google, sync all devices."
  • If all fails, try resetting your Google Home device.

Keep us posted!

Best,

Alex

Hey Alex, thanks for reaching out.  I would love to do that, but as I wrote in my original post, Leviton DOES NOT show up as a linked account.  All the switches still show in my Google app, but they show as offline. When I try to link the account, it takes me through all the steps, individual devices, adding them to rooms, and then done. However, when I go back to check if Leviton is linked, it's not there. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the only  way I know to get rid of the switches in the Google app is to unlink the account. And you can't unlink something that's not showing as linked. Any suggestions?  By the way, everything still works fine in the Leviton app.

Hi upsmichael,

Thanks for letting us know.

Have you tried the other steps above? Try removing your devices from your Leviton app, signed out from the app then re-add your switches.

Let us know if the steps helps.

Kind regards,

Alex

No sir, no luck!  I'm backup and running, but it's only because I deleted the home and everything associated with it and started over under a new home name. Took me the greater part of a weekend to get everything running smoothly.
