Music Inside and Outside

I have searched everywhere and cannot find a solution to this request. I have google home setup with multiple Nest speakers throughout my home. I like to play music on multiple speakers throughout the house at a time for entertaining. I want to be able to play music inside and outside in the backyard at the same time though. I figured a smart portable speaker would be best so I don't have to worry about it getting wet or plugging it in. I just purchased the Sonos Move since it says it has Google built in. I figured I’d be able to add it to a speaker group and play at the same time as my interior nest speakers. I can add it to Google Home but that’s about it. Won’t play music with the other speakers throughout my house. Are there any other options to be able to achieve this? I don’t mind implementing a workaround if needed. Seems like a simple request but so far I’ve been out of luck. And I don’t want to swap out all my interior speakers with sonos either. Even if I do that, they don’t fully integrate with my smart home accessories.

Hey Skraw,

It is possible to create a speaker group with compatible devices and you can group speakers, Smart Displays, and Smart Clocks in any combination.

  • Google Nest and Home speakers and displays
  • Chromecast (2nd generation and above)
  • Devices with Google Assistant
  • Chromecast Audio
  • Speakers with Chromecast built-in
  • Google Nest Wifi point

However, this feature doesn't work on Bose or Sonos speakers that have the Google Assistant.

Hope this helps!

Thanks,

Alex

I was able to add the Bose to a speaker group and am able to play music through that and also the rest of my Google speakers at the same time.
