Hi, I have a total of 3 nest devices in my townhome and one of them is randomly shutting off due to losing power. It states that the rh cable is not connected. I’ve taken off the nest and confirmed the cable is in fact connected. When I reset the power from the power box it seems to get it working again and problem is solved. But unfortunately after several hours it will go through the same problem. I’m not sure if this is a nest issue or an HVAC issue at this point and any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hello Govols22,
I'm sorry to hear that your Nest thermostat is not holding a charge. I'd be happy to take a look into this for you.
It appears that your system may not provide enough power or any power to either the thermostat or a specific wire (so the thermostat can’t complete a circuit and shows the message). Let's sort this out.
I'll look forward to your response.
Best regards,
Mark

Hi! Sorry was planning on testing it out as soon as possible. Unfortunately I am working nearly everyday and haven’t had the chance to test it out as I need to call maintenance since I am in a townhome unit within an apartment complex so I need to find time throughout the day to get the key.

Thank you so much for your advice! I had one of the maintenance people come and they changed the filter and it worked for a bit. The problem is that it works but then stops so it’s hard to tell if the situation is resolved or not. It stopped working but turns out the internet went out so it stopped for all of the thermostats. I will continue to monitor to see if the problem persists. Since I don’t have access to the AC unit since it’s a rental townhome inside an apartment complex I don’t have access to the HVAC generally.

Hi Govols22,
So glad you're able to find a different way for this to be isolated. Even though there were hiccups doesn't mean we can't get this resolved. We'll closely monitor for now since there are still some concerns with your internet.
Keep me posted.
Cheers,
Dan

Thank you for your help! It was working well all day but later at night I noticed that it was off. This generally occurs at night after it’s being used during the day. When it’s not currently being activated on eco it’s not usually an issue. This notably happens after cooling.

Hi Govols22,
Thanks for letting us know. I'd love to know more about this. How is your Nest Thermostat wired? Also, please check the power reading of your Nest Thermostat by going to Settings > Technical Info > Power.
Thanks,

Hey Edward,
It appears that the thermostat still turns off when it’s set to cool. But due to the weather it has been on heat with no problem. It seems like it has to be something within the AC itself.
