About a week ago my nest thermostat would not work from the app on my iphone, it just stated that the thermostat was "Offline".
It will not connect to the Wi-Fi in my house despite multiple efforts typing in the network name and password, I've deleted and reinstalled the Nest app with no change, reset everything, turned things off and back on again but still the same issues.
Since resetting everything I cannot even get the thermostat to give me the 7 digit code to pair it with the app, and the thermostat states on the network section nest.com/5 whatever that means?
This is driving me mad as I work shifts and the weather is getting colder so just when I need it most it packs in!
Any help or advice welcomed.
Thanks.

I had a similar issue with my Nest Thermostat Gen 3. They told me that the inability to 'Connect to the Wi-Fi' was unrepairable. And my unit is out of warranty. I need to purchase another one.

I had a feeling that might be the case, I’ll just buy another one.
Thanks for the help.

Hello everyone,
I'm sorry for the late response, and thank you for taking the time to let us know about your inquiries. I'd be happy to shed some light on the situation here.
To isolate, could you tell us which Nest Thermostats you both have? For the Nest Learning Thermostat or the Nest Thermostat E, check that the battery level is above 3.7 Volts and charge it for an hour if it drops. Then, try resetting the Account Connection in the Reset settings and attempt to reconnect it manually to the Wi-Fi network on the Network settings before generating a new code in the Nest App option.
If you're getting any message code, let me know so we can check the other way around.
For the Nest Thermostat 2020 model, ensure that the thermostat is getting enough power as well from the Equipment settings and inspect for any wiring report or message codes. If it still showing offline in the Google Home app after a series of steps, try performing a battery restart by pulling out the batteries for 3 minutes and resetting it to factory default. Which allows you to reconnect it back to the Google Home app.
Let us know how it goes.
Regards,
Mark

I'm sorry that it's not much comfort to spend another $250 bucks. Mine was 14 months old. So instead of buying it from Google again, I purchased it from Walmart with a 3 year warranty for $36 ($1 per month). The nice part was being able to open the Nest App, scan the QR code and go. It was super easy. And all of my temperature sensors automatically connected to it.
Best of Luck!

So when I get the new one will I be able to just link it to the nest app and I’m back in business.
Or will I have to get the sender into part that gets wired into the boiler fitted again after getting the one that’s fitted now removed?

All I had to do was use the Nest App and add. It used the installed (original) base and connections. Works great.
all the best, D
