Old IFTTT applets not releasing their voice commands

The issue...
In IFTTT I create an applet with a Google Assistant voice input. E.g. "Hey Google, Movie Time!"
If I update the applet's response (e.g. adjusting the URL that it's webhook points to) nothing changes.
However, if I add a new, alternative voice input (E.g. "Hey Google, TV Time!") then the updated response is used.

If I want to make a totally new applet to do the same thing, but with slightly different parameters (due to changes in my set-up) I try the following...
- Disconnect and archive my original "Movie Time" applet
- Create a new one with the same voice inputs but a different resulting action
...however the old action doesn't seem to get flushed and so the voice inputs still fire the old result, instead of the new one. This means that I have to come up with a new, unintuitive voice command that usually requires me to talk like Yoda ("Time for movies, it is!").

Is there any way to totally flush all the old applet links between Google Assistant and IFTTT?

Failing that, I would happilly flush out all the links (so I could, presumably, reinitialise them from IFTTT).

Help is much appreciated as this is driving me nuts! Thanks.

P.S. Apologies for digging this old issue up, but I've been searching the web for a solution to this for a while now... It seems to be a frequently recurring problem, but every thread about it gets locked with no solution, or the solution link in the thread goes to a dead end. Hopefully we can get this sorted! ❤️

Hi. I reached out to IFTT support as well, to see if I could get this fixed. Here is what I learned...
1) Disconnecting and reconnecting an applet (with a 2 minute wait inbetween) will sometimes shake the system up a bit to make changes propegate.
2) Google can have up to a 7 day delay for purging voice commands when an Applet is disconnected.

To fix this I waited 7 days, then deactivated all commands... waited a few minutes... then reactivated the new command.

That seemed to do the trick!

Hey dt1000,

Thanks for reaching out — let's figure this out.

Give these steps a try:

Remove IFTTT from your Google Account to .

  1. Go to the list of apps connected to the Google Account.
  2. If the customer hasn't already, sign in to the account.
  3. Select IFTTT > Remove.
  4. Repeat for every IFTTT service connected to the account.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Alex
