I like to find out how many of you second the motion that Google 'must' add "2.4GHz only" to their Google WiFi products.
Reason is that if I want to add a smart device, I need to take out a very old router with the same SSID and password to configure the smart device with the right SSID and password. Another way to do it, I read to use an old phone that only has 2.4GHz WiFi and switch on the hotspot.
This should not be necessary. It would be very easy foor Google to disable the 5GHz antenna. The best option would be that Google adds the possibility to set a timer. After x-minutes the 5GHz antenna enables and a notification is send via the Google Home app to the connected phone.

Hi RmnBrwrs,
We totally understand that it's a good feature to use with your Google/Nest Wifi routers and points, but the feature is not available. I'd suggest you submit feedback about it. Let us know if you have other questions or concerns; we're here to help.
Best regards,
Dan
