I have a couple Philips Hue bulbs that refuse to link to my Google Home app. I have removed and re-linked Hue a few times and still run into the issue. I even factory reset the Hue hub with no luck.
EDIT: The two lights now show online and are controllable but when I try to add them to my home, I get an error saying, "there was a problem communicating with Google."

Hi MichelfrancisB,
Thanks for getting back to us. Could you try these additional steps:
1) Log into https://goo.gle/3T8RgXQ
2) Click "Apps" at the top.
3) Deactivate all "Google" activated account
4) Launch Hue app on the phone
5) Click on the "Settings" icon at the top right.
6) Click on "My Bridges"
7) Click the "i" icon next to the bridge
😎 Click "Clean Up" and confirm.
9) Go to Google Home and link the Hue account as usual
10) Note that the lights don't show up right away. You need to leave the Home Control page, wait a few minutes, then go back.
Hope this helps.
Best,
Alex

If you login to https://account.meethue.com/ and go to your account.
There is also a option to go to your Hue systems and all connected external applications.
I noticed when having to much or double applications could cause issues.
Maybe worth a shot checking it out. 🙂

Hey MichelfrancisB, do you have the regular phillips hue software installed? I have had this issue you are describing before and usually it is resolved when I open/update the non google hue app

I do. I've got both apps installed as you need the Philips Hue app to add bulbs to the hub.

Open it and see if the lights are working in there. If its not make sure your device with home app is on the same network.

Hi everyone,
@RXShorty and @0mo, thanks for the help.
@MichelfrancisB, I’m sorry to hear you’re having trouble with this. No worries, we'll check this out.
A few questions: were the lights linked before or this is the first time that you are linking it? Are you able to control your Philips Hue lights using the Philips Hue mobile app? Have you successfully linked your Philips Hue account to your Google Home device via the Assistant Settings? If not, check these steps.
Keep me posted
Best,
Juni

My apologies, I just saw this reply.
This is the first time they were linked since being factory reset along with the Philips Hue hub and all Google hardware.
I've no issues controlling them from the Hue app and Hue has been successfully linked to Google Home.
