Unable to save an automation when I configure it to play media to a speaker

Fellow Nesters...

I am trying to setup an automation to play a YTMusic playlist @ 6 AM on weekdays on a specific speaker.

I am able to configure the time start for specific days.  I am even able to configure the action to "Play music" and enter the playlist name in the field.

However, when I try to save the automation, it does nothing.  I am almost 100% certain that it's the "Play music" action, because when I remove it and change the action to something else (i.e. make an announcement) the app allows me to save the automation.

Also, it's good to note that I have linked my YTMusic premium account to my Google Home account.

The only thing that I can think of is that it's the formatting of the YTMusic playlist entry in the "Play music" action.  The name of the playlist is "ACC".  Should the formatting in the field be:

"ACC playlist" (With quotes)

ACC playlist (Without quotes)

"ACC" playlist (quotes only around the name of the playlist)

I think I've tried all of them and nothing is working.  I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app on my Pixel, and still no good.

If anyone has anything that I can try, please let reply.

Thanks in advance.

Is your playlist a public one?

I remember someone met some problems on private playlists.

Also, this is just my guess (and I'm also curious about the answer), do you setup a household routine or a personal routine? If it's household routine, maybe you can try to change it to personal routine.

Yup, tried making the playlist public, and no dice.  It was setup as a household routine, but I will try setting it up as a personal routine again...but if I remember correctly, that didn't make a difference.

I’d be interested in the solution to this issue, as we’re having the same problem. We’re trying to set it up so that in one room the lights turn on at a certain time and music plays (we’re using the automation as an alarm to wake up our children before school). No matter what we put in the music settings (a playlist, a song, even “The Beatles” like in the example), it will not allow us to save the automation until we remove the play music action. We tried setting it up under Household and under Personal, and the same issue is with both. Would really love to know if anyone has any suggestions!

OK...after some sleuthing...it appears I've been able to figure out at least the issue.  It appears that any media playing action will cause the automation to not save.  I'm able to make an announcement (i.e. "Time to get up!"), however, when I try to play any sort of media, that's when it doesn't allow me to save.  Even when I try the action "Play a delightful chime", that is enough to not allow a save of the automation.

I tried switching speakers (such as a Google Nest Hub), and it's the same functionality.

I feel like I'm missing something obvious...like I didn't setup something correctly, but I can't figure out why it will let an automated announcement happen, but no media playback...

Also...apparently the action "Adjust media volume" also causes the automation not to save.
