Using Diivoo temperature sensor as an automation starter

Hi all,

I recently purchased a Diivoo WiFi temperature/humidity sensor (because the Nest temperature sensor is not available in the UK).  (https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0BCFYQQHP?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1). It has linked with Google Home just fine, and I can see both the temperature and humidity in the Home App.

But I don't seem to be able to use the temperature as a starter in an automation. When I select the device as a starter it offers me the humidity as a starter value but there's no mention of temperature. Diivoo support have suggested this is a limitation in the Home App rather than in their software, but I don't buy that. Any ideas?

Thanks,

thesynman

Hi. No, I didn't find a fix. I sent it back. Diivoo support weren't helpful. I'm still looking for a suitable device.

This seems to be a known issue for a while now. Apparently all these different temperature and humidity sensors can only be used in home automations/routines for humidity, but not for temperature - which is way more important to me because this will allow me to microzone my house using Smart TRVs with automations based on temperature. i.e: turn on the heating when the temperature in kid's bedroom is below 16 degrees. Especially combined with "when sun has set AND the living room light are off, close the smart TRV in the living room". This way I'm just heating one or two rooms in the house at night rather than all.
