chromecast wont mirror Xfinity streaming

I get this error message when I try and mirror Xfinity streaming app

Screen mirroring isn't currently supported

Turn off screen mirroring to watch on this device, or you can watch on your TV if you have a Chromecast device. Just tap the Chromecast icon in the app.

I purposely purchased a chromecast because of this and I can't figure out how to make it work

That message means that app doesn't allow you to mirror your screen while using it. They're suggesting you use the cast icon directly in the app instead.
