Where would I go for a question about lights?
It seems strange that 'lighting' is not a category here.
My question is about google Home and how to access built in patterns from third party lights.
And for 'speakers and displays' it you have to choose 'Android', iOS or WebBrowser??
Is there a different group I should be at for these questions?
Thanks!
Joe

Hi there,
The 'Home automation' forum section is a good place for questions about lights I think. Google Nest don't actually manufacturer any light bulbs themselves so that's my guess as to why this forum doesn't have a dedicated section.
Having Android', iOS or WebBrowser form options might be because Google have announced a web view option will be introduced sometime this year or because you can still use some Nest devices from a website https://home.nest.com/
If your third party lights allow you to create scenes then these can be accessed using routines within the Google Home app or with the 'activate' voice command....
"Hey Google, activate <scene name>".

thank you for the suggestion, that helped me get it working the way I was wanting to.

Just to add to this, although this is supposed to be the correct solution it rarely works.
I created a scene 'chill out' and that works.
I create another scene 'party time', but google just says 'lets get this party started' and plays some silly song.
Same with 'party down' or anything with the work party in it.
So I tried with 'Hyper Lights' and 'Mojo Lights' but he just keeps saying 'sorry, I don't understand'.
'OK Google Active the scene 'Hyper Lights' and he says 'sure, activating the light Emma' -- which means nothing to me.

Hi again,
Please try using the command "Hey Google, activate <scene name>".
E.g. "Active Party Time"
Without saying "Active the scene" just "Active <scene name>".

Yes, that is what I started with.
I added the 'the scene' to try and get it to work.

FIXED.
I did not realize that after making a change in the connected app (Wiz in this case) I needed to 'Hey Google, Sync My Devices'
After spending days and hours of tinkering with this that is what it took!
