I have an iHome iGV1 bedside clock with Google Assistant built-in, which worked perfectly until a few months ago. However, I noticed that it no longer sets alarms through voice commands. Every time I say, "Hey Google, set the alarm," it responds with, "Sorry, I don't understand." Despite this, it could still cast Spotify and display the clock on the device.
To resolve the issue, I reset the device and reconnected it to the Google Home app. The detection process went smoothly, and the device appeared on the app. However, not only is the original issue unresolved, but now the clock display is missing, and it no longer casts audio.
Is there any solution to fix these issues?

Hi AmirPasha,
Thank you for posting in the community. I'm sorry to hear that you are having issues with your iHome iGV1 with Google Assistant. Don't worry, I'm here to help.
Based on the information you shared with us, it looks like it is having hardware and software issues. We would like to recommend you contact the iHome tech support because since the device is manufactured by them, I cannot tell you what to do; we can only help you with Google Nest devices.
Let me know if you have any further questions.
Regards,
Kevin

What a horrible answer!!!! This is what iHome says:
"We are sorry to hear about the experience you have encountered.
iHome manufactures the hardware of the product like the cabinet and buttons. Google controls all aspects of the Google Assistant, such as firmware updates, functionality updates, etc.
You are not the only one experiencing this issue with Google Assistance. It sounds like there is an issue with the product's Google Assistance side, and we recommend that you contact Google's customer service for help. Also, Google will always release updated firmware to their own devices before releasing it to 3rd party devices. Google does not give us a schedule for when a firmware update will be available or released.
You can try again to reset it and setting up. We are including step-by-step setup instructions. "

If pass the buck is all you're going to do, then what good is tech support?

This is a shame for iHome that they won’t upgrade this device’s firmware and are refusing support by stating they no longer support the device!

Mine is doing the same thing. I have reset it and nothing happens. Annoying.

Mine is doing the same thing. Two years ago it stopped setting alarms. Yesterday I reset the unit, hoping to start all over. When the unit came back up, the time display was blank and and questions or commands regarding display were responded to with "I don't understand". What a POS!!!!!! I'm ready to chuck this out the window and buy and Apple product.
