socket for bedroom light

I have one socket in the bedroom to control bedside lamp. It's connected through smartlife. All my other sockets with smartlife are working fine. The bedroom socket is on the google home dashboard, and shows as working. I can turn it off and on but nothing happens to the light. google mini also says light is on or off and nothing happens. I've tried deleting, resetting several times (even bought new socket).  i can only control the socket through smartlife. this has happened once before, and i basically gave up trying to fix, then one day  i tried for fun to turn light on through google mini, and the light turned on. any solutions would be appreciated

I have similar problem with a socket switch that operate fine in Smart Life app but when using Google mini and voice controll I can only do lights off...trying lights on gives me the the answer "I do not recognice the name off the unit and please use the correct name". I can use google app and turn light on and off. The strange thing is that if I add this unit into another Room then I can controll it by voice. If I then add it back to my kitchen room I am back to same error with no voice control possible again.

I have informed the Google support team about this and are waiting for answers.

Thank you for reaching out! I am sorry to hear that you two are experiencing issues with your Google Assistant and smart socket/plug not working.

 

As the smart socket/plug is not our product, I am unable to troubleshoot that item, and I recommend you reaching out to the manufacturer. 

 

You can also reach out to the Google Assistant Help Community Forum as your question is more related to the Google Assistant than the actual Google Nest Mini device itself. A specialist there should be able to look into this issue and help you.
