Do you really need a pro ID to enable humidifier control functions on a 4th Gen nest learning thermostat?

Hi @Yura1985,

Thank you for your post and the detailed information you've provided. I understand that you want to know if you need a pro ID to control the humidifier on your Nest Learning Thermostat 4th generation. I am here to help. Let's work together.

In this instance, a pro ID is not necessary to operate the humidifier. You can set up your Nest Learning Thermostat 4th Generation normally.

In addition, you can read this post to set up: Get started with your Nest Thermostat.

Please keep me posted.

Warm regards,

Jeremy.

Hi @Yura1985,

Thank you for the timely response and detailed information that your Nest Learning Thermostat 4th generation recognizes there is a wire going to the AQ+ terminal. I am here to help, and let's find a solution together.

Please provide me with two more questions:

  • What type of HVAC system do you have (conventional or heat pump)?
  • Would you mind sharing a picture of your previous and current wiring installation?

Please keep me posted.

Warm regards,

Jeremy.

The system has a standalone humidity switch with a neutral and a positive terminal going to it

I removed the switch and wired the AQ Plus terminal to the negative of the solenoid which should make the nest trigger it when there is low humidity but the nest has no idea what that virus it won't let me pick what to do with it
