Received Nest subscription in June 2024 went up to $80 for a year decided not to renew ( only have 2 cameras 1 doorbell) felt it was too expensive. Clicked on cancel subscription and a offer popped up for $40 for the year decided that was a fair price and clicked on it ( should have taken a picture of offer) and next credit card statement showed $80!! Called my CC company and they put a hold on the charge then notified me they needed proof. I explained I didn’t have physical proof they said to contact Nest/Google which I tried to do. None of the phone numbers I called had a live person either said not a current number or they weren’t currently open and no way to leave a message. Without proof my CC company said they couldn’t help me. I’m so angry and frustrated! If anyone has any advice on this please reply. I can’t be the only one that Nest has done this too! This is a terrible way to treat customers. I can cancel the subscription but no refund at all for the amount of time still left on the subscription. This seems so illegal that they do this and get away with it!!!

I'm just another Google Nest customer, and so have no idea what happened with the $40 offer you received.
This is Google Nest's current pricing page:
https://store.google.com/us/product/nest_aware?hl=en-US&modal=upgrade-pricing
You could try the "Contact us" option under "Nest Aware Premier Care" on the page below to "Get 24/7 access to Nest Aware Experts on the Nest Customer Care team. They’re available to answer questions, help you access features, and manage your subscription."

I agree. For what you get, that's too much money. I regret buying my doorbell. I am considering buying another doorbell from another manufacturer.
