Can anyone confirm what exactly occurs when you move from a First Gen Nest Aware subscription to a Second Gen Nest Aware subscription?
I am still holding on to my pre-2018 Nest Aware Subscription. With all these upcoming price increases, if I move to the second gen service, is my first gen service canceled immediately, refunded and the second gen service starts right away? OR do I live out my current first gen renewal and the second gen service starts at the time of when the first gen would have renewed?

I think you can get a pro-rated refund on 1st gen subscriptions. (You CANNOT on 2nd gen subscriptions.)
This is the price list on the Google Store:

Yea I’d expect as much with a pro rated refund. In the end, even with the pro-rated amount, if the first gen canceled today I’d be paying more for the second gen service versus my current service. So I’ll likely hold off until closer to my renewal and then unfortunately have to switch.
Speaking of which, @MplsCustomer , can you provide some insight on this thread? I tried sending you a DM but your username didn’t come up. As seen in that post, I am deathly afraid of migrating but you seem to have had success when you did your migration in 2020.

I have no idea how to DM users in this forum.
We had no issues at all when we migrated in 2020. The biggest concern is that you CANNOT migrate to a Google Account that is already being used for Google Nest devices; if that's your situation, you'll need to check the "Error message: Google Account is already linked with another Nest account" topic under "Troubleshoot account migration issues" in this Help topic:
https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9297676?
The Help topic has other information about how customers might be affected, depending on what equipment they have. For example, "You'll no longer be able to use the Nest app on Apple TV or Android TV." And: "Home members might lose access and need to be reinvited."
