Hey Zaki1,

Thank you so much for keeping me updated and providing that useful information.

Follow these steps to confirm that your device is set to play music using YouTube by default.

  • Ensure your mobile device is connected to the same Wi-Fi or linked to the same account as the speaker.
  • Open the Google Home app.
  • Tap your account.
  • Verify the Google Account on screen is the one linked to the speaker or display. To switch accounts, tap the down arrow icon and then choose another account or Add another account.
  • Tap to close the Account window.
  • Tap Settings.
  • Tap Add and then Service and then Music.
  • To choose a default service, select the preferred music service available. The assistant uses this choice when you use the voice command “Hey Google, play music.” If your music service isn't listed, make sure you've downloaded the app and signed in.
  • To connect the account, tap a music service and then Link Account, and then sign in or sign up for the service and then follow the in-app steps.
  • To unlink an account, tap Unlink and then Unlink the account.

Additionally, you can find more information by checking out this article: Listen to music on speakers and displays.

Please keep me updated and let me know how it goes.

Regards

Daniel

  • Let's select music
  • There you'll find the services that you have available.
  • Verify that YouTube is enable

Hey Zaki1,

Thank you so much for keeping me updated. I understand how frustrating it must be that this trouble hasn't been resolved. So let’s explore more tips.

Follow these steps to connect your favorite music services to your Google Nest Audio and choose one as your default. Please refer to this article to: Link your music services and set your default service.

If these steps don’t work, let’s perform a factory reset. Checking this article: Factory reset Google Nest or Home speakers or displays. Then remove the Google Nest Audio from your phone and try to pair it again.

Feel free to write in this post if you need more help.

Regards,
Daniel

Hey Zaki1,

Thanks for posting here in the community forum. I’m sorry to hear your Google Nest Audio refuses to play YouTube. So don’t worry; I’m here to assist you.

To effectively troubleshoot, could you please answer these questions?

  • When did the problem first occur?
  • Are you using YouTube Premium on your device?
  • What commands are you using to play music on your Google Nest Audio?
  • Do you have a specific problem when you request an artist, song, or genre?

Please keep me posted so I can provide you with further assistance.

Best regards,

Daniel

Thanks Daniel

Hey Daniel
Thank you so much - appreciated.
Following your advise there was no way to locate "

  • Tap Add and then Service and then Music."

it just would not appear in the settings menu...

Hey Brandon
Thank you very much for your support
The solution would not work (again...) . this is so frustrating I tried to return the speaker but it seems I was too late... Am i the only one having problems with this impossible speaker?
My next step would be to disconnect it from it all and start all over again.
Thanks again. appreciated.
