The screenshot was from my son's computer. He's located in the Baltimore/Washington area. I'm located on the Virginia Peninsula and I haven't heard anything about this, which is why I'm asking. Thanks!

I'm seeing the US pricing as it's been for the last few years. Be sure to look on the Google Store for the official prices for Nest Aware.

Just so you know, it seems like the Nest Battery Cams are the ones affected by the v1.67 firmware update, which includes the floodlight cam and the battery-powered doorbell.

That seems to be the price in Great Britain. Sometimes, depending on how you search (or due to Google Search quirks), you get Google Store results from another country. The link below has "GB" in the link and shows $9 and $18/month:

But this link, with "US" in the link, shows $6 and $12/month:

There is no increase in the price for Nest Aware in the US. Most likely the location on your son's computer is in Australia. If you go to https://goo.gle/2NXcnMq and scroll all the way down you will see a flag there where you can change it to the correct country.

I just received an email that my Nest Aware Subscription price will be increasing from $60/yr to $80/yr this November with no additional benefits. That’s a 33% price increase with no explanation given.

I have 2 subscriptions for two different locations. One is on 1st generation and the price increased from $100 to $160, a 60% increase. Interesting that my price is 25% higher than your current price. 

my Nest Aware Plus is $120 and increasing to $150, a 25% increase.  At least this is the same.

I just received the increase in price for Nest Aware in the US. For 1st generation, the increase is a whopping 60%, whereas the Nest Aware Plus increase is 25%!

Clearly, the strategic direction of Google is to exit this business as its pricing strategy is absolutely abhorrent and completely unreasonable.

Google Nest marked it as "solved" back in July because the original post was an error, where a customer posted the prices in Australia. (Sometimes searches for Google Nest items yield results for other countries even when the user is in the U.S.)  The recent posts today are about the new price price increases.

We just now received the same email. It checks out with the price now showing on the Google Store for the U.S. The email says "This new price will go into effect on your next bill that occurs on or after November 6, 2023." Our next bill is in June 2024 because we pay annually.

Yes, I just received the same.  I would love to have a Community Specialist justify a 33% increase for me.  I just left Xfinity this week for another ISP because of how they take their customers for granted.  Looks like Ring may be getting a new customer.

Holy Mother of God...the price increase from $120 to $150 annually?  I could have sworn it increased a year or so ago.  And yet I continue to have numerous issues with the app not loading the cameras, or better yet not even being able to view history easily, along with the ridiculousness of switching between the Google Home and Nest App for certain cameras.

120 to 150 and using it less and less with the same issues. Not worth it for the regular customer using it for the doorbell. Time to cancel. It was ok to have for 120 a year but not worth it at this price. Just dumped YouTube tv for Hulu as well for a regional sports network they dropped. Google One is the last service left but I'll start looking at competitors in advance. (long time Google supporter here)

Just received the same email. This is pretty ridiculous IMHO: the service doesn't grow new significant features to justify the hike. Feels like yet another blatant attempt to squeeze more money from the clients. I've already started looking into alternatives...

Just got same email. I love that they also say "We remain committed to helping our customers get the most out of their Nest devices and will continue to bring new features and innovations to Nest Aware over time."

There have been zero improvements over the past few years I've had the camera, if anything they seem worse. Notifications for detections outside the areas I designate, notifications images of movement seem to show just before the movement, so rather than being able quickly ignore because it was cat or relative come to the house, I have to always open app and watch video to see what the movement was. Also this amazing AI in the cloud still thinks shadows, trees moving and animals are people. Push to talk is crap and always has been, cannot hear and talk at same time.

So you want us to pay more for what exactly? 

I'll definitely being looking for alternative solution going forward.

Ours just increased from $100 per year to $160. Received the email from Google today. We'll not renew the service and purchase something more reasonable from a competitor.
