For my Nest Doorbell I used the Nest subscription which was C$60 annually. It was on auto-renew for many years, but it didn't auto-renew last year. Once I notice I wanted to reinstate the plan, but while existing customers stay on this plan, I now have to sign up for Nest Aware at C$100 and almost 180% increase which is terrible and not acceptable. After talking with support both on Nest and Google side they offered no way out to sign up to my old plan.
I have purchased many, many Google products over the years, but that treatment is really upsetting !!!!

Google Nest quit selling 1st gen Nest Aware subscriptions in July 2023, while allowing continued renewals (https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9233159). We switched from 1st gen Nest Aware to 2nd gen Nest Aware in 2020 because--with several cameras--it was cheaper.
In Sept. 2023, Google Nest announced Nest Aware price increases effective with annual renewals starting in Nov. 2023, the first increase since 2019. Ours went up from $120 to $150 in June 2024.
I can't find a list of Canadian prices for Nest Aware, but the U.S. prices are below. Your increase from C$60 to C$100 is significant (67%), but it's not 180%.

Hi MplsCustomer,
my wording was off, it's 167% of the original prices which translates to a 67% increase. May bad, thanks for correcting. Still it remains a terrible jump independent of how long Nest haven't raised prices. You attached links and I know them well as everyone from Nest and Google has referred to them. The fact stays the same for me, I find it bad practice to not allow me to get back to my original plan while there are still customers on it. Sorry to say, but your response wasn't helpful in any way for me.

I suspect Google Nest isn't letting customers go back to the 1st gen subscriptions because they've been trying to entice people OFF of them for 6 years, ever since 2019 when we first became a Google Nest customer.
It seems that Google Nest's price list works for customers who have several cameras, but not so well for customers who have only one or two cameras.
