Can no longer get 24/7 10 day video via Nest Home app using Nest Battery Cameras that are plugged in via wire.. This seemed to start shortly after recent “upgrade” to home app. Suspect a mistake in the upgrade app itself. Cannot even find timeline in the app (but can find and view event history). Please help

On the new version of the Google Home app, with a Nest Aware Plus subscription, we ARE able to access 24/7 history on our battery camera plugged in with the optional power cable. It appears in the new vertical timeline that now displays below the camera's live feed in the Google Home app.

Thank you for your response. There is no vertical timeline under the live view for me. I am using home app with IOS (iphone and ipap). I see a short timeline on event recordings but that is limited to the duration of the particular event.

The vertical timeline appears when Google Nest updates the version of the Google Home app on the Google Nest servers; when it happens, you're asked to select the "Favorites" you want to display on your screen.
In the Google Home app, if you go to your battery camera and select Settings | Video | Video history, is "60-day event and 10-day 24/7 video history" checked?

Yes it is checked. I now notice that on ipad (and iphone) can see the timeline only in portrait orientation but cannot see it or get to timeline in landscape orientation. In prior home app could view timeline in both orientations. If this is correct I suggest that the home app should fix this flaw. I have used nest cameras for several years (multiple outdoor IQs) and six plus outdoor battery powered (all wired) and the most effective orientation from user perspective in my opinion is in landscape. As an aside the nest app functionality was much more user friendly for 24/7 rolling video (especially clips and time lapses) - disappointed when learned does not work for battery. Wish google was still making IQs!

Another customer on the blog below noted that, because the timeline is only available in portrait mode, it also takes up over half of the screen and does not allow for the full-screen browsing of the timeline that is available in the much older Google Nest app:
I too wish we could select any clip we wanted to download.

I'm having this same issue. If I hear something in the night, there's no way to play back 5 minutes ago unless there is an event recorded of that exact time. I'm going to change my subscription if I can't use what I pay for.

If you have a Nest Aware Plus subscription, you should get 24/7 history for the last 10 days. If you have a Nest Aware subscription, you only get video event history for events the camera has detected.

Thanks for the follow-up information. Have you checked if your Nest Aware subscription is still active? If it is not active anymore, you need to renew your subscription so that you can still get the benefits of playback for your Nest Camera. Are there other members of your account that could have deleted the video history? Also, check if you are signed into the right account, try the web app, and check if the issue persists.
