Nest Cam (battery connected to solar panel) only recording when in the app

Hi, I have a Nest Cam Outdoor Battery that I have connected to a solar panel made for Google Nest. I have the settings programmed to capture every motion including vehicles, people, pets etc. This is due to living in a pretty bad area where recording is a necessity. The camera will record people but usually when they’re basically out of the line of sight - so it’s useless (despite changing the sensitivity settings). I have also noticed that the camera will only record things like cars when I am in the app. When I’m in the app it will also record people from the very first moment they’re in view of the camera. How do I fix this? I need the camera to record EVERYTHING that moves with no delay.

It might be that, when powered with a solar panel, the battery camera is running on battery power, which means it's normally in "Idle" mode and has to wake up in order to record an event. And the camera wakes up when you view it from the Google Home app or a Nest Hub. We've had a battery camera for 2-1/2 years, but ours is plugged in with the optional power cable. But when we've unplugged our camera to test it on battery power, it does not wake up to detect someone walking right in front of the camera.

This is what Google Nest says about the solar panel:

"If you’ve connected your Nest Cam (battery) to the Wasserstein Solar Panel, the panel doesn’t directly power the camera. Instead, the battery is trickle charged by the panel, and the camera runs off the battery charge."
