Any update on supporting Nest Protect in the Google Home app?

I’ve been waiting for this feature for 2-3 years now but I don’t see any updates. 

Is the Nest Protect ever going to be supported in the Google Home app? Can anyone from the Google Product team confirm and provide a timeline here? 

I have 15+ Nest Protects installed, plus a mix of gen1 Nest Outdoor and Indoor wired cameras, Thermostats, Doorbell etc...Now I’d like to expand my system with new devices but, I still need Nest app support which is the app I still use 99% most of the time because of the Nest Protects. The 2 app approach (Nest + Google Home) doesn’t really cut it for me and I feel this is taking way too long. Please HELP!

I’d rather they bag the Home app and make all the nest products work in the superior Nest app - like they did before Google started actively destroying the Nest ecosystem.

Dont buy anymore nest products. They arent going to support them.

Agreed and incredibly frustrating how Google ruined what seemed like a great brand. I've given up on Nest (sunk cost) and am moving to Simplisafe as this is their core business, and the fire detectors are much cheaper.
