App states power out on all devices

constancelvl

I had 5 nest protect. Just did my basement I added 4 more after 4 days they all say power out. I didn’t lose power. It refuses to go to green. I have to pass an inspection and it looks like I will have to obtain regular smoke detectors/carbon monoxide. This is beyond frustrating. Google has no phone number. Our only option is communicating here. Does any one have a suggestion? Thank you

Hi folks,

Thanks for stopping by, @MplsCustomer

@constancelvl, thanks for posting here in Community forum, and I'm sorry to hear about the situation. I'd like to take a look at this for you.

A few questions: May I ask what the exact error message is that you saw on the Nest app? And have you tried to perform a safety checkup test on your Nest Protect?

I'll look forward to your response.

Best,

Zoe

I had to remove all devices because they were not properly communicating with each other and continued to receive the same error that every devices power was out when it wasn’t. I had to install regular smoke/carbon detectors to pass inspection. This company is worthless now. Removing all forms of communication? Ridiculous

Hi constancelvl,

I know it's been a while, and I’m sorry to hear you're still going through this.

A few questions: What type of Nest Protect do you have? Is it Wired or Battery-powered? Also, have you checked if your Nest Protects’ software has been updated already? If not, refer to this article. Software updates go out in waves or blocks; the dates listed are the first day of updates, and updates usually take about a week to go out to all devices.

Then if you have identified that your Nest Protects software is not yet updated, you can follow this guide to see how to update their software.

Let me know how it goes.

Thanks,

Zoe
