Chirp dmoke alarm

My gen 2 nest smoke alarm started chirping. I replaced the batteries with rechargeable batteries and it still chirped. When plugged in to power it seems to work. Will it only work with the lithium batteries? Or is my alarm bad?

Hi @Dwaine,

Thank you for posting in the community. I'm sorry to hear that your Nest smoke alarm Gen 2 started chirping when you changed the batteries with rechargeable batteries. Let me help you solve this situation.

Nest protection requires lithium batteries to work properly. If you use rechargeable batteries or alkaline batteries, they will quickly drain and need to be replaced soon. So let's change to lithium batteries and check how the device is working.

Let me know how it goes.

Best regards,

Lusvin.
