Constantly Needing New Batteries

Rnixon

Hey all,

I’ve read other threads with this same issue, but none resolved it from what I can see.
I have changed the batteries in my Nest Protect semi-weekly now for months with lithium AAs, but invariably a week or two later I get the low battery notification. My software is version 3.5rc3.

thanks for the help!

Same issue.  Battery low every alert every two weeks after putting in brand new batteries.  Getting expensive and annoying.  Stand behind your product Google!

Hi Melany,

What type of Nest Protect do you have? I have a first Gen.

Do you have a wired or a battery-powered Nest protect? It can be either. Our problem comes from when we have it mounted on the ceiling with batteries.

Is it chirping every 60 seconds? Yes

Has the emergency alarm been activated? Not currently.

  • What's the status LED light? Yellow!

hopefully this helps you help me!
