I have to install interconnected smoke detectors on two floors of a home where running a physical wire for the interconnect will be very problematic. Because the requirement also calls for these to be hardwired for power eliminates nearly all the "wireless interconnect" products I can find except for the First Alert SC5 (model SMCCO600NV-AC); the others I can find appear to be battery powered only. I've seen a number of references to these being the "drop in replacement" for Nest Protect detectors, but online retailer sites seems to have generally poor reviews for the First Alert, particularly with regard to false alarms; surprising for a First Alert product.
Was wondering what experiences Nest Protect owners have if they've replaced theirs with this First Alert product?
