Just installed 6 new second generation smoke/CO detectors and one of them starts alarming for smoke which sets off the others. No smoke or fire or kitchen/shower steam present. Took the one alarming detector out of the network, problem persists except from the detector in the immediate next room. As a result, removed those two detectors from the ceiling, disconnected both from ac voltage and removed the batteries. Measured ac voltage at connectors to be present for typical 110v. Are the detectors sensitive to noise on the ac voltage causing it to alarm? These are brand new units I installed three days ago so dust shouldn’t be a problem. Help! Ideas?
