Google Nest Protect constantly alerting to smoke

I went to file a claim to get a warranty repair or refund for out nest protect. I am eligible and I go through the whole process online and then when I get to filing the actual claim, I GET A 404!!! The page doesn't exist???

It is sickening that you cannot reach anyone at this company directly. I can't even get CS on the phone to try and get my warranty that way. So now I am stuck with this LEMON on a nest protect?? Bull**bleep**!

Hello Dross,

We appreciate you reaching out to us about your Nest Protect giving a false alarm. I know it was a scary experience, and I'm sorry for any inconvenience it caused. I'd be happy to take a look at possible options for you.

To confirm, have you had a chance to try performing a Safety Checkup or even resetting it?

Keep me posted.

Regards,
Mark

I've done all the recommended stuff. I took it down once and pulled the batteries cause it wouldn't stop throwing false alarms. Everything looks clean, new batteries changed. Put it back up and it started again. I had to then pull it down once more and REMOVE it from my account because it just started messaging me on nest app every 10 minutes that there was smoke.

After this, I went to file a claim but it wouldn't show up in the online tool for warranty because I had removed it from my nest account. So, put it back up, added it back to our account and on day 2, it started going off again. Had to yank it down.

Before removing from the account, I went through the online warranty form and confirmed it was under warranty. All the way through the process to file the claim and 404 error, page cannot be found. I'm at my breaking point with this device and am hating the fact that I'll probably have to eat that purchase...

And I did a factory reset as well in the process.
