Hello,
I am deaf and would like to create a routine that makes all lights blink when a Nest Protect smoke detector goes off (then I can check my phone where what's going on).
I thought I could add the smoke detectors to Google Home after having them fully set up in the Nest app, but it doesn't seem possible.
Also in IFTTT I don't manage to link the Nest Protects: they are not in Google Home and when I try to link the Nest account, IFTTT keeps sending me to their webpage informing you that Nest thermostat devices can now be linked through Google Home (completely irrelevant for me).
How do I achieve what I want?
And/or how do I add the Nest Protect devices to Google Home or IFTTT so I can use them in an a routine or applet?
Thanks for the help! 🙂

Hi Moondusted,
Thanks for reaching out.
I'm afraid that what you're looking for isn't supported. However, the best option is to use the Nest App where your Nest Protect is associated with since you will receive notifications from there. You'll also get an alert on your phone or tablet (as long as your Protect has a working Wi-Fi connection). See the information here.
We’re always looking for ways to improve and we’ll take this as feedback. Let me know if you still have questions and concerns otherwise, I'll be locking this thread after 24 hours.
Best,
Jenelyn
