Nest Doorbell visitor announcements

Hi, we are a Google-connected home with 5 different Google mini's and various assistant-enabled speakers around the house.  We just purchased the Nest Doorbell but I don't see the ability to pick and choose what speakers the visitor announcements should work on.  We use a mini in our daughter's room as a white noise machine and having an announcement come on in there and all over the house isn't workable.  Am I missing the setting to pick and choose what device can act as the doorbell?  I'm surprised it defaults to every speaker in the house.

Thanks,

Michael

Hi there, msettiyo.

Sorry for my late response. Thank you for all of your patience while waiting for a reply. I just wanted to make sure that your issue is addressed. That all depends on your settings for each speaker group, their location, and you will want to look into each speaker and change which devices they will work with when it comes to the Google Assistant option for each. Look into it a bit more, and please reach back out if you have further questions.

Best Regards,

Brad.

Hi Brad, there doesn't seem to be a solution beyond creating a separate home for just the doorbell and the speakers you want to be notified on.  That will work, but that means that you are managing two separate homes for all your devices.  As far as I can tell, there is no way to individually indicate what devices you want the visitor announcement to chime on, it's all or nothing, which is a feature I'm hoping they will add.

Is there an alternative I am not seeing other than creating a separate home?

Hey there msettiyo,
I saw your response and wanted to hop in here to provide some clarification. Unfortunately, you're correct, there is no feature that allows you to do that without creating a separate home. We are happy to take this feedback and pass it along to our team as we are always looking to improve our products and services.

Please let me know if you have any further questions or concerns as I will be closing this thread in 24 hours.

Best regards,
Garrett DS

Thanks, please do.  It would be great to not have to manage separate homes.
