Nest Protect A11 Battery Smoke and Co2 Detector Beeps Every 60 Seconds, No Light, No Voice

Fretty

As the title says, my Nest Protect A11 battery smoke and co2 detectors is beeping once every minute. Power light is not illuminated, no voice audio plays, and pressing the button doesn't do anything.

Any idea what's up?

We don't have Nest Protects, but this Help topic says:

"Low battery: Protect will sound one chirp every 60 seconds until you replace the batteries."

https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9243107?hl=en#zippy=%2Cwhen-protect-needs-your-attentio...

Thank you for the reply. I saw that solution too, but it doesn't coincide with previous times that the batteries were low. Previously the Nest would announce, rather loudly, "Battery low, please replace". It would do this every minute or so. The LED light would also be illuminated yellow. This time, there is no voice announcement nor LED light.

So I'm confused if that were the case, why the warning is so different.

Since your symptoms do not match any of those described in Google Nest's Help topic, maybe it's worth calling Support and asking them to explain what it means. They SHOULD be able to look up their own error indicators and tell you what it means.

1. Go to https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp.
2. Select a category/product family, and type in a brief description of the issue, then click "Next".
3. Click "Other", then click "Next step".
4. Under "Resources", just click "Next step". (Clicking one of the listed links will bring up a Help page page.)
5. Under "Contact options", choose to get a phone call or chat with the team, depending on availability in your country.
